Viperoo Logo Commission |
Viperoo.com
March 2017

A very quick commission that began as a boredom buster. I saw a competition on one of my partner's vape pages on Facebook, and I had a moment of inspiration! But I was too late for the contest, but I decided to draw my idea anyway. When I started it, I posted the beginnings of the design and tagged the group page. Then low and behold, I'm messaged by one of their admins asking if they could use the design (they thought the Stage 1 drawing was the finished article!). So I continued the design, they loved it, and I bagged the other half some free vape juice!

Deciding to work under my own company name, formerly "HDdesign", I have been working on logo designs for use on business cards, letter heads and to put on designs and layout presentations.

Play Ship: Final Major Project |
Boathouse 4
May 2016
This was my final project of my University Degree. One which I thoroughly enjoyed as I had free reign over my chosen building, Boathouse 4 in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard. This was not a live project. I decided to capture a hole in the Dockyard's market in regards activities for young children. There is not much to entertain them, or allow them to learn about heritage in a way that captivates them.
So I created a children's soft play area and exhibition space where 4-11 year-olds can learn about boatbuilding and heritage through play and activities.

Bastion 6 | Hilsea Lines
Dec. 2015

This was my first project of my Graduation year at University. This was a live project, dealing with 2 clients. We were creating a museum design to turn Bastion 6 into a WW2 National Museum of Remembrance. Dealing with a listed structure was quite a challenge, but this helped me to gain understanding of listed buildings and any regeneration or interference with the structures.
The clients wanted displays that could be constantly changed and moved as the artifacts were being moved from a much bigger site, to this significantly smaller one. The structure of the building helped with this design. They also wanted to be technologically advanced and I achieved this through my interactive timeline floor with surface mapping for the client to be able to change the floor along with the displays.

Music Center | St. Agatha's Church
May 2015

This was the last project for my 2nd year of study at University. We were given St. Agatha's Catholic Church in Portsmouth to create an 'intervention' within the space to rejuvenate it as a Arts & Music Center. Being a very artistic, and musical, individual I was very excited by this project. And I could use my knowledge of art and art history to inform my design.
I took inspiration from Evanescence's track "Eternal" from the Origin EP and from Kandinski's "Composition 8" to create my design. I also used my knowledge of religious symbolism and incorporated that within my design.
